I conducted a great interview with Dr. Susan Bosler of Spinal Healthcare & Physical Medicine in New Haven, Indiana. She is a very down-to-earth physician, and it was a pleasure to interview her. Here is the transcript of our interview with Dr. Bosler:
SN: What first made you interested in scoliosis and chiropractic studies?
SB: I had a very mild scoliosis that was pretty noticeable during adolescence and was very self conscious. I never knew there was anything that could be done. After graduating from Chiropractic school and practicing for 11 years, I heard Dr. Dennis Woggon speak about his friend Leander Eckard. He spoke about how his table helped him treat scoliosis. That initiated investigating treatment for scoliosis.
SN: How many years of experience do you have in treating scoliosis?
SB: I began treating scoliosis in 2006.
SN: How do you keep with changing trends in medicine and healthcare?
SB: After being in practice for over 30 years, I still have an immense love for learning, I have continued to stay current with the changing trends for treatment of scoliosis and have recently become certified in Natural Functional Medicine.
SN: What have you learned from treating patients with scoliosis?
SB: Scoliosis is a whole new ballgame when it comes to treating spines. Due to the neuromusculoskeletal and neurotransmitter components, spines affected by scoliosis respond differently to care.
SN: What do you enjoy the most about your job?
SB: I truly love helping to restore hope, health, and healing. Allowing patients to understand there is a better quality of life waiting for them.
SN: Are there certain type(s) of method(s) you use for treating patients with scoliosis?
SB: I have created the Bosler technique. I use that term loosely. I have utilized Diversified, Thompson, CBP, Pettibon, etc. to provide the best outcomes for my patients.
SN: Is there anything else you would like to add?
SB: I have been blessed to be a wife for 34 years, mother of 4, an intern, associate, a partner, medically integrated, co owner of a weight loss clinic, and a sole owner of a practice.
